Work out roughly what this will cost

Five calculators for the questions people are actually trying to answer before they call: what weekly service costs, how much a green pool recovery runs, whether a pump is worth repairing, whether a salt cell needs cleaning or replacing, and how risky your particular pool opening is.

Weekly service cost

What full weekly service is likely to run for a pool like yours. Full service means test, dose, skim, brush, vacuum as needed, baskets, pad walk and a photo report, not a chemistry only drive by.

Planning range

$225 to $375+ a month

Tree load moves this more than people expect. A pool under three pecans costs meaningfully more to keep clean than the same pool in an open yard, because the skimming and the filter work never stop.

This is a planning range, not the invoice.

Green to clean recovery

Recovery is a multi day package, never one shock. The return visit is booked on day one, because the filter work that has to follow a treatment is exactly the step that gets skipped when nobody scheduled it.

Planning range

$450 to $1250+

We do not drain as the default. Draining a green pool is faster for the technician and worse for your plaster, and it is rarely necessary at this stage.

Pump repair or replace

The honest fork in the road. A shaft seal is a few hundred. A cooked motor is not. This gives you a steer before a truck rolls, and you get both written prices before anything is opened past inspection.

Planning range

$175 to $600+ repair

A pump this age making noise is more often bearings or a shaft seal than a dead motor. A seal is a modest repair. Replacing the whole unit at this age is usually the more expensive answer to the same problem.

Salt cell, clean or replace

A dirty cell and a dead cell look identical from the deck and cost very different amounts. Hard North Texas fill water scales cells faster here than the manufacturer literature assumes.

Cleaning, quoted after a photo

White crust on the blades is scale, not death. A cell this age with visible scale usually cleans up and goes back to producing. In North Texas hard water this is the single most common salt call we take, and it is the cheap outcome.

Opening, and whether doing it yourself is wise

An opening is a checklist, not a cover yank. This tells you honestly how risky your particular startup is, including the cases where you genuinely do not need us.

Planning range

$275 to $650+

Low risk. This is a routine opening: cover off and cleaned, lines and plugs, equipment startup, first balance, then a weekly rhythm while the chemistry settles. Doing it yourself is genuinely viable here if you have the time.

This is a planning range, not the invoice.

Why these are ranges

A calculator that returns a single confident number is lying to you. Pool size, equipment age, access, tree load, fill water hardness and the state the water is already in all move the real figure, and several of those are invisible until somebody is standing at the pad. A wide honest range beats a narrow invented one, and it means the number on the phone will not come as a shock.
